Information Technology Infrastructure Team Leader - Support Office - Kansas City, KS

Position Overview: We are seeking a proactive and experienced IT Infrastructure Team Leader to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's technology infrastructure. This role will lead a team of IT professionals responsible for servers, networks, cloud platforms, storage, security, and end-user support. The ideal candidate is both a hands-on technical expert and a collaborative leader who can ensure stability, scalability, and security of our IT environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Management
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT infrastructure specialists, system administrators, and network engineers.
    • Prioritize workloads, allocate resources, and ensure timely delivery of projects and support requests.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Infrastructure Management
    • Oversee the administration of servers, networks, storage systems, and cloud environments (Azure/AWS/Google Cloud).
    • Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of critical IT infrastructure.
    • Monitor system health, capacity, and utilization to proactively address risks.
  • Security & Compliance
    • Implement and maintain IT security standards, policies, and procedures.
    • Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices (e.g., ISO, NIST, GDPR).
    • Manage patching, access controls, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Project Delivery
    • Lead infrastructure projects such as data center upgrades, cloud migrations, and network modernization.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technology solutions.
    • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new technologies to support business growth.
  • Operational Support
    • Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met for incident response and issue resolution.
    • Drive root cause analysis for recurring infrastructure problems.
    • Maintain thorough documentation for systems, processes, and configurations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master's or certifications preferred).
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years in IT infrastructure roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
    • Proven experience managing Windows/Linux servers, networking (LAN/WAN), virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud platforms.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, firewalls, and backup/recovery solutions.
    • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and service management best practices.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and people management skills.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Effective communicator with the ability to interact at both technical and executive levels.
    • Project management experience and vendor negotiation skills.
