This role plays a vital part in ensuring continuity of safe, high-quality pharmacy care across multiple locations throughout Kansas and Missouri. As a floating pharmacist, this teammate brings clinical expertise, adaptability, and leadership to each assigned store-maintaining consistent standards in medication safety, regulatory compliance, and patient care regardless of location.
By quickly integrating into new teams and workflows, the pharmacist ensures uninterrupted pharmacy operations, supports staff, and enhances the patient experience through accurate dispensing, clinical services, and compassionate counseling. Their ability to navigate varying environments while upholding company and legal standards directly contributes to improved patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and overall pharmacy performance.
Supporting Price Chopper, Hen House, Sun Fresh, and Payless Discount Foods locations across Kansas & Missouri.
Key Responsibilities:
- Medication Safety & Dispensing Accuracy: Ensures all prescriptions are accurately reviewed, verified, and dispensed in accordance with legal, clinical, and company standards to promote safe and effective patient care.
- Patient Care & Clinical Services: Delivers high-quality patient care through counseling, immunizations, and clinical services, supporting optimal medication outcomes and overall patient health.
- Regulatory Compliance & Pharmacy Operations: Maintains full compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws while ensuring safe, efficient, and organized pharmacy operations.
- Team Leadership & Oversight: Team Leadership & Oversight: Provides direct supervision and oversight of pharmacy technicians to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy operations.
Essential Job Duties:
- Interprets, verifies, and evaluates prescription orders for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness
- Compounds, dispenses, and labels medications and devices in accordance with applicable laws and standards
- Conducts drug utilization reviews (DUR) to identify potential interactions, contraindications, or therapy concerns
- Provides patient counseling on medications, including proper use, side effects, and adherence
- Administers immunizations and delivers medication therapy management (MTM) services as permitted by state regulations
- Ensures proper storage, handling, and security of all medications, including controlled substances
- Maintains accurate pharmacy records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Oversees and verifies the work of pharmacy technicians
- Communicates with prescribers to clarify or resolve prescription-related issues
- Manages inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and removing outdated or recalled medications
- Ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, and workflow standards
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment
- Provides excellent customer service by addressing patient questions and resolving concerns
- Supports efficient workflow and timely prescription processing

Minimum Qualifications:
- Required: Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the Kansas and Missouri Board of Pharmacy
- Required: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy
- Required: Current Immunization Certification (or willingness to obtain within a defined timeframe in accordance with state regulations)
- Required: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Required: Ability to work at an assigned store location and maintain full compliance with all applicable state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Preferred: Previous experience in a retail pharmacy setting
